On June 1st, I went to Finland. I flew through Stockholm, Sweden only to get stuck there for a total of 6 hours. Yuck! The flight to Sweden had been delayed for an hour and a half, so my plane had already left the Swedish airport by the time I arrived there. It was an adventure, but I was able to talk with two nice women going through the same thing. (They had also been on the flight to Sweden.) Eventually I arrived, with all of my luggage, hooray, to Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
I spent time with my fiancé all throughout June, and used that time as well to get everything prepared for the wedding on July 14th. I was able to do more sightseeing in Helsinki and experience more of how they live on a day-to-day basis as well as the nightlife. I loved it! I worked on editing my novel while there, too. I wanted to make sure that I had enough information on Finland before I left since the novel I’m currently working on in placed there.
At the beginning of July, my mom came over to Finland and I was able to spend time with her for the first time in a little over a month. She also helped with the preparations for the wedding. On July 14th, in the church my husband has gone to most of his life, we were married. The whole occasion was done on a small scale. Around twenty-seven people were there. We had invited our closest relatives and friends. At the reception, we had a wonderful host who was funny but straightforward. The food was excellent, and the cake.... The cake was a success. I chose white chocolate vanilla, and everyone went back for heaping seconds.
For our honeymoon, we went on a trip on Norway. We took a train to Turku, Finland and from there took an overnight cruise boat and were picked up by the tour company in Stockholm, Sweden. We were driven across Sweden and into Norway where we saw several gorgeous fjords and mountains. It was picturesque. We saw Oslo and a few other towns there. We went back through Sweden to the Stockholm, got back on the overnight cruise boat headed for Turku, and were picked up by my husband’s parents back in Turku.
We arrived back in the United States on July 27th, and managed to enjoy a couple of days before traveling to Arizona to visit some of my family. There we saw the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Jerome, and Sedona. The weather was actually decent. Almost every day was cloudy and rainy, except for the day we flew back to Florida.
Now here we are back in Florida. We took a weekend getaway a couple of weeks ago to Savannah, Georgia, and another one to Miami and Key West. And that has been my summer.

One of the beatiful falls of Norway
High up in the Norway, the air was warm.
After that icy view we stopped at one of the last towns before heading out. Another stream from the mountains behind.
