Her eyes widened, and she hopped out of bed. She stared at the door, hoping her maid, Betsy, wouldn’t come in without knocking. Charlotte needed to look presentable before that happened.

His eyebrows rose, and he leaned back over her. “Saucy girl. Maybe I’ll have to show you what I’d like to get right on again with.” He pressed his hard shaft against her thigh.

He met her gaze. His eyes, normally dark brown, were now wolf amber. “What did I do to get such a sweet lady like you?” he said, his voice gravelly and low.

She laughed, but the sound caught in her throat as his lips caressed her breast. “I wonder that too. Maybe it was destiny.”

Michael came up behind her, and his hands cradled her shoulders. He brushed a kiss against her neck near her jawline, and then another lower down her neck. His lips caressed down toward her shoulder, drawing a sigh from her lips.

She reached up behind her and sank her fingers into his soft hair. Her fingertips massaged his head in gentle circles. Maybe she was ready for this.

He glanced at the young man and frowned. “Go on, buddy. Just watch where you’re going next time.”

The kid picked up his skateboard and rushed away down the stairs.

The man smiled and offered her a hand up. “You should probably watch where you’re going, too.”

The sound of wheels barely penetrated her thoughts as a force slammed into her, knocking her aside. Glancing up, she grimaced at the tall, lanky kid hovering over her.

“Sorry, ma’am. Are you okay?” The kid ran his palms over his denim jeans.

A handsome man in a nice suit knelt by her, scooping her library books into a pile.

“Something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. You don’t make this easy for me, Rubia.” He rolled over carefully. His body hovered over hers, and he pressed his lips against her shoulder and then her neck.

Sensations of pleasure spread between her legs, warming her body to a fever pitch. What were they doing?

He winked and sat next to her in the hammock. It tilted enough that she slid closer to him.

Her hip bumped his, and her nerves tingled. She crawled away. Unfortunately, he must have taken that as an invitation to come closer, since he lay next to her. “What are you doing?”

Quick note to set it up. This week continues on Jungle Fire from my last Six Sentence Sunday post a few weeks ago. This is still Jungle Heat’s sequel. It follows Rubia and Kyle.

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, unwilling to show the impact his presence had on her.
