So far, so good!

This year has started pretty well! I’m a decent way into the cyberpunk romance novella I’m writing (and loving), and well, I’ve started editing my post-apocalyptic paranormal romance novel. I know I need to buckle down with it if I want to get it edited by my hopeful due date. Also, my desk is somewhat clean, and I’ve already started figuring out what projects I’d like to accomplish throughout the rest of the year. Woo!

Pretty soon, I’ll be putting in an update with my webmistress so you’ll actually see new content on my website. What a shocker! lol That’s another good idea for this year, not leave my website so sad and not updated. I think that depends on the progress I make with getting published though. =)

Hope everyone else has had a great start of the year so far as well!

Website updated!

After submitting my updates to my awesome webmistress, Rae Monet, my website has now been updated! It had definitely been a while since I’d had it updated, especially since I haven’t had much news in terms of new contracts, but I hope those will come soon! As noted, my novel Melody of Love has been no longer available for a while since Firedrakes Weyr went out of business toward the end of last year. It received some great reviews, but I’m interested more in the paranormal romance and urban fantasy market. And I like a bit more heat to my novels than that these days. *grins* It was a great experience to be work with the publisher though.

Anyways! The website shows that change as well as a small peek at my upcoming project, Jungle Heat, which is in active submission at the moment. There are a few other tweaks here and there, like the fact that I’m no longer on the Gulf Coast (been in Central Florida for almost two years now… lol). And a few out of date link trimmings.

I’m so happy with my website, so make sure to check it out.

New website and more

If you’ve noticed, I have a wonderful new layout and design for my website and blog. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous. It means a lot to me because the Urban Fantasy that I’m working on reflects aspects of it that I can’t spill because then my books wouldn’t be as much of a surprise. *grins* My webmistress, Rae Monet, did an excellent job on everything. I’m absolutely thrilled with what she’s done.

Also, I had a request for a full on my novella, Night of the Tiger, which is about a Siberian weretiger who falls in love with an Amazon Princess. It was really fun to write, and I can’t wait for it to find a home. It stretched me as a writer, since at the time, I was writing urban contemporaries, and with the novella, I really had to research and find out information that I didn’t readily know.
In other writing news, besides from editing my novella for the request, I haven’t gotten too much more done. I hope to change that this week though. Instead of checking my email every few minutes, I need to work on editing my urban fantasy novel or write on my urban fantasy sequel. But, it’s a new week, so I’m going to go for it. =)
Last night, I saw My Bloody Valentine 3D. It was a fun movie, and Jensen Ackles did an amazing job as did the rest of the cast as well. And yes, I love him in his role of Dean Winchester from Supernatural, but this role was also great for him in a very interesting way. I’m honestly a fan of his through and through. I can’t say too much else about the movie because I don’t want to ruin the movie for anyone who wants to see it. Seeing it in 3D is definitely the way to go since the special effects were neat. Some were done pretty much for the 3D effect, which wasn’t bad. Don’t take kids to it because there is gore and sexual content.

Website updates, etc

Hi everyone! I did a few updates to my website today, so make sure to check them out. I’ve added an MP3 of me reading the blurb to Melody of Love, so make sure to check it out in the My Books section. Also, I added an article I wrote a while back to the For Writers section about discipline and how I’ve struggled with it myself.

I’ve been doing well on editing my paranormal romance. I’ve completed two moderately long chapters so far. I also began toying around with an spicy romance short story that I started a few years ago. I rewrote the beginning of it, and now it’s tossing me in a direction that undermines its original purpose. It’s so exciting when things like that happen! =)

I will have the newsletter out by Friday. This weekend I’ll also be going out of town, so that’ll be exciting. It’s been a while since I’ve been on vacation. And it’s so desperately needed!

Anyways! I hope you all check out the new goodies I posted on my website and sign up for the mailing list.

The website is finished with the contruction, so make sure you go check it out. Not too much has changed with it, but I now have a picture under bio and there have been several tweaks here and there. I’ve been writing for the past couple of days, but I am biting at the bit to start promoting my book Melody of Love and give y’all something to whet your appetite. I turned over my final edits to the editor-in-chief today, so that’s a good step, and I’ve been promoting to friends and family members… I’d like all the sales I can get =)

I can give the blurb to Melody of Love, so here it is! Hope you enjoy it, and I will have more on the book as soon as I can. Make sure to leave a comment!

Kathryn Walker’s life is great, except for one area. Love. Still reeling from the disappointment of past relationships, her world is sent spinning when danger encroaches on her simple life.

Alex Brown is a rock star dealing with betrayal, but once he meets Kathryn… His sights are set.

Could love be enough to sustain them through the hardship ahead?

Got some writing done on book 2 of the For Love and Music series. Woot! I remember now how hard beginnings can be to write. I feel rather disconnected from the characters and don’t feel like we’ve been fully introduced yet, even though both of them appeared in Melody of Love. It’s odd, but… that’s just part of the process, I guess. Construction on the website will begin tomorrow. I’ll be adding some new content to it, so watch out for that.

Also, tomorrow at 8PM EST is the internet radio show. Don’t forget! 😉

That’s all that I can think of for now. I’ll blog again tomorrow to tell about how the internet radio show went.

Hello everyone! My website and blog got a matching makeover, so check it out! Let me know what you think. My goal for the month is to finish my nanowrimo novel (started in November), and also to get my nanowrimo novel from 2005, which is finished, completely edited. I’ll have a page counter over on the side so that you can see how many pages I have edited of it.

I want this year to be a very productive one. Perhaps this will be the year where I’ll transcend the pre-published status, and become a published author. Hooray!

I am almost done with editing my novel. I have approximately 26 pages to go. Hooray! Then I’ll be able to start submitting it to agents and editors. I’m so excited. I’ll give more information on that as it happens.

Also, I’m almost finished with the page of what I did on my trip. I’ll try to have it up on my website by Tuesday. (There is one version up on it now that my husband wrote, but I have some corrections to add.) Sorry for the delay on that. It’s been pretty hectic recently.

Well, I’m off to bed as soon as I print out these last few pages of my novel to edit tomorrow.

The website got it’s monthly update, today! There were quite a few changes to the layout. We made it have more of a feel like that of my blog. I’m really enjoying this change. It’s more savvy and professional looking. Within the next few days there will probably be a few more small changes occurring. Edits to the bio page, projects page, etc. Regarding writerly news, I ‘ve gotten some more pages edited. Two chapters today, actually. Hooray! Tomorrow I’ll work on it some more, but right now. I’m going to bed. I’m exhausted.

That’s about it for now. Keep checking back.
