"I better be going," Kathryn said, yet stayed in his arms.
"Do you have to?" Alex asked.
She sighed. "Yeah, I have to. I have work tomorrow." She looked up at him, and he back down at her. Their eyes met and held each other's. A spark of passion leapt between them.
He leaned down and pressed a kiss against Kathryn's lips. She wasn't reluctant, but it seemed like she didn't have much experience with kissing, not because she was bad at it, but because she didn't seem use to it. He judged and weighed how far he should go by how much further she was letting him go.
Alex deepened the kiss and placed his hand on her shoulder to massage the exposed skin there. She flinched, so he slowed the pace of the kiss and pulled back.
He looked down into her eyes, which seemed to be sparkling. He could tell that she enjoyed the kiss probably as much as he did, but wasn't certain that was possible. He smiled at her and pulled her back into a warm hug.
"That was wonderful," she murmured against his chest.
"Yes, it was," he replied. He pressed another kiss against the top of her head. "You drive safely and make sure to call me when you get home, so that I know you made it, okay?"
Kathryn nodded. "I will." She smiled and picked up her purse then they were headed for the door. He walked her out to her car and they kissed once more.
"Have a good night, Kathryn."
"You too."

Simply Romance Reviews
Melody of Love by Sarah Makela is a true romance in the traditional sense of the term, with a strong and noble hero striving to prove himself worthy of the pure and virginal heroine. In this book, the author is very adept at focusing on the emotions of her characters as the motivations for their actions, and explains those emotions in great detail... In the end, this is a love story of two people who overcome obstacles, both internal and external, to find happiness together; isn't that what real romance is about, after all? - Reviewed by Mickey
Fallen Angel Reviews
Every so often a romance comes along that is sweet and beautiful and shows how far a person will go to keep a certain person in their lives because of the respect they have for them. Sarah Makela’s writing is very true to life and Alex’s reaction to Kathryn’s vow is very realistic. It was wonderful to watch him change his outlook on life because of the way he feels about Kathryn and how she lives her own life. Melody of Love is very uplifting and lovely story that should not be missed! - Reviewed by Katie
